How to use your new Bent Balance Board:

Safety should be your first concern.  We recommend that you wear a helmet, and wrist guards.  You should set up an area on a carpet or rug where you will have at least five feet all around you.  When you first start it is recommended that you have a sturdy chair or couch in front of you to hold on to in case you loose your balance.

Start by placing the board perpendicular to the cylinder with the catch blocks lined up with the cylinder.  The board should be placed so that approximately one-third hangs over the cylinder.  Start by placing one foot on the board on the ground side and then take your stance on the board with your other foot.  Slowly transfer your weight to your foot in the air and find your balance point.  Don't panic and jump off the board.  If you loose your balance simply transfer your weight to one side so that one foot is on the board on the ground side, and simply step off.

When you first start you will find it hard to stay on for longer than 20 seconds, but as you improve you will be able to stay up for minutes.  Once you get good at this you will be surprised at how good of a workout this really is for your core.

Hints:

1)   When you are up and balancing keep your knees in, and the cylinder centered between them.
Transfer your weight to keep the cylinder between your knees.

2)   Practice stepping on and off the board before you try to beat your record.

3)   Stand straight up don't crouch.  You will be most comfortable and have the easiest time
finding your balance point.  It is much harder to balance in a crouching position.

4)   Don't try to progress too fast.  Stay within your comfort level.  It will increase.
